Gen AI in 2025: Playtime is over, time to get practical
From CIO
Businesses have a serious case of generative AI pilot fatigue.
That was a major finding in a recent NTT DATA survey, with nearly nine out of 10 business leaders saying they are experiencing AI pilot fatigue.
A big reason for AI pilot fatigue is AI pilot failure. In fact, IDC surveys have found that only a small number of AI pilots reach production.
In the CIO article, “Gen AI in 2025: Playtime is over, time to get practical,” TTEC Digital Director of AI Solutions Aaron Schroeder joins other AI experts in unpacking the reasons why AI pilots fail — as well as what organizations can do to mitigate failure.
“The most successful approach we’ve experienced is in designing the governance for AI pilots and solutions up front, at a higher level — whether that’s to accelerate productivity, drive cost savings, increase revenue, or drive better customer experiences,” Schroeder says. “By identifying the key tenets up front, it becomes easier to maintain alignment on multiple projects that are occurring simultaneously in a company.”
